Welcome to my personal website!
My name is Anton Rozhkov and I am currently an Industry Assistant Professor and a Director of the Master of Science Program in Applied Urban Science and Informatics at the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) at New York University (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering. My research interests focus on how data-driven policies and new technologies can affect infrastructure planning and the design of our cities. I teach and conduct research on topics related to using complex systems, data science, and spatial analytics to solve today’s pressing issues in urban areas. I believe that only by working together with people across disciplines and all over the world we can make life in our cities more sustainable, livable, and pleasant.
I was born and raised in the city of Balashikha in the Moscow suburbs in Russia. After several years of work and study in the field of spatial analysis, GIS, environmental planning, and energy policy, I decided to continue my education and advance my professional and personal skills in Chicago (USA). Before joining the CUSP team in New York City, I received a Ph.D. degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). You can read my story here.
For many years I have been fascinated with photography, especially urban photography, so you can have a look at the collection of my photos from many parts of the globe in the gallery.
